Paris-based startup Naboo has secured €20 million in a Series A funding round led by Notion Capital, marking a record-breaking investment in the event-tech sector. The funding underscores the growing demand for Naboo’s AI-powered event concierge service, which already caters to 10% of France’s CAC 40-listed companies.
A New Era for Corporate Events
Naboo is transforming the way companies plan and manage corporate events. With the rise of remote work, demand for in-person team-building activities has surged. “What we’d predicted came true,” said Maxime Eduardo, Naboo’s Co-founder and CEO. “Social interaction fosters a sense of belonging, which drives employee loyalty and commitment.”
Founded in 2022 by serial entrepreneurs Maxime Eduardo and Antoine Servant, Naboo has quickly gained traction in the corporate events industry. Its AI-driven platform streamlines event planning, covering everything from venue selection and catering to transportation and team-building activities. By integrating automation with personalized service, Naboo eliminates administrative burdens, allowing companies to focus on creating memorable experiences.
High-Profile Clients and Contracts
Naboo’s impact is already evident, securing contracts valued between €1–10 million per year with ten EU-listed companies. Three of these contracts exceed €10 million annually. The startup’s clientele includes major corporations such as Google, Société Générale, Veolia, Arkema, Thales, and fintech scale-up Qonto.
“The event organization space is ripe for disruption,” said Itxaso del Palacio, General Partner at Notion Capital. “Despite increasing corporate event budgets, the sector remains anchored in outdated models. Naboo is redefining event planning by integrating automation, transparency, and compliance, setting a new industry standard.”
Expanding Across Europe
Following a successful funding round in November 2023, Naboo has invested heavily in AI and data-driven processes, refining its concierge service to optimize efficiency and sustainability. The latest funding will support Naboo’s expansion into the UK in late 2024, followed by further growth in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy throughout 2025.
Fred Viet, Chief Sales Officer at Aircall, praised Naboo’s ability to facilitate global event planning: “As someone based in New York, it’s incredibly convenient to use Naboo for organizing events across Europe.”
Innovation in Event Management and Sustainability
Beyond event coordination, Naboo is developing a centralized software suite to assist CFOs and procurement directors in managing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) budgets. The platform integrates spend tracking, compliance monitoring, invoicing, and automated payment processing to provide unparalleled financial oversight.
Sustainability is also at the heart of Naboo’s vision. Inspired by the lush planet of Naboo from Star Wars, the company prioritizes eco-friendly event planning by promoting local retreats over international travel. “Carbon reduction is key to what we do,” Eduardo emphasized. “Our AI-driven backend enhances both personalization and sustainability, ensuring that corporate events remain impactful while reducing their environmental footprint.”
Rapid Growth and Future Outlook
Since raising its initial funding in April 2022, Naboo’s growth has been exponential. In 2024 alone, its booking volumes quadrupled to €60 million. With a target of exceeding €100 million in booking volumes by 2025, the startup is set to challenge fragmented domestic booking systems with a unified, tech-enabled solution for enterprises across Europe.
Further signaling its aggressive expansion strategy, Naboo recently acquired Bizmeeting, hinting at future M&A-driven growth. As corporate event spending continues to rise, Naboo is positioning itself as the go-to platform for companies seeking streamlined, high-impact event planning.
