Veriff Acquires Vespia: Bringing KYB to the Next Level

Veriff, a global leader in identity verification, has announced the acquisition of Vespia, a KYB (Know Your Business) startup focused on fast, scalable business verification. The move brings Vespia’s technology into Veriff’s trust platform, enabling businesses to verify companies anywhere in the world in seconds.

For Vespia’s founder, Julia Ront, the acquisition represents a full-circle moment. Ront was Veriff’s second employee, joining the early team to help build one of the first scalable online identity verification platforms. In 2021, she left to launch Vespia alongside co-founder Anton Vedešin, focusing on closing a gap in global business compliance.

“From day one, Vespia was built as a KYB-first company,” Ront said. “Our mission was simple: make KYB scalable, intelligent, and automated without sacrificing quality.”

Vespia developed an end-to-end KYB platform that includes:

  • Access to business registries across 300+ jurisdictions
  • Shareholder and UBO verification for complex ownership structures
  • Customizable onboarding flows based on risk profiles
  • Ongoing monitoring to detect post-onboarding changes

The acquisition allows Vespia’s technology to operate at a larger scale, integrated with Veriff’s existing KYC and identity verification capabilities. The integration will occur in phases: early 2026 sees the KYB platform available via Veriff’s Limited Access Program, with commercial availability planned for mid-2026.

“Fraud networks are evolving, and regulations are tightening,” Ront noted. “Businesses increasingly want a single trusted partner rather than managing multiple vendors. Integrating Vespia into Veriff solves this problem at scale.”

The Vespia team will join Veriff, ensuring continuity in KYB quality while benefiting from Veriff’s global reach and long-term investment in trust infrastructure.

For Julia Ront, the journey from early Veriff builder to founder and back again underscores a simple truth: trust compounds over time — across companies, products, and founder journeys.
