Biorsaf, a Castell’Azzara-based startup focused on food safety and risk management software, has raised €5.2 million in a funding round led by P101, with participation from existing investors Maia Ventures, Farming Future, and Toscana Next.
The Round
The company said the investment will support its next phase of growth in Food RegTech and strengthen its position in digitising food safety and compliance workflows.
The Acquisition
Following the round, Biorsaf also acquired Cooki, a food information management platform, in a move that brings food safety, quality, and traceability into a single platform — combining Biorsaf’s risk management and compliance tools with Cooki’s food information management capabilities under one roof.
The Product
Biorsaf develops digital tools that help companies digitise manuals and procedures for risk management and assessment, with a particular focus on the food sector. The company says it already serves more than 10,000 active users, digitising operations across risk management and assessment workflows for food safety compliance.
Use of Funds
Biorsaf plans to use the capital for growth and buy-and-build activity, of which the Cooki acquisition is the first step, signalling that further M&A could follow as the company builds out its Food RegTech platform.
