Fleequid Raises €3M to Digitize Europe’s Used Bus Market

Italian online marketplace for used buses Fleequid raises €3 million to expand across Europe

Italian startup Fleequid, the first online marketplace dedicated to used buses, has raised €3 million in seed funding to scale across Europe and upgrade its auction-based platform. The funding round was led by Amsterdam-based DFF Ventures, with backing from Silence VC, FJ Labs, and angel investor Jack Greco (Co-founder of ACV Auctions).

Founded in 2024 by brothers Filippo and Federico Battaglia, Fleequid is tackling a traditionally offline, opaque sector: the resale of used buses. Every year, over 100,000 buses change hands across Europe—yet the buying and selling process remains slow, fragmented, and broker-driven.

“We’ve lived the pain points firsthand,” said Filippo Battaglia, referencing their 13 years running their family’s bus trading business, Basco. “We built Fleequid to say yes to every resale opportunity, not just the 10% we could previously handle.”

A Digital Solution to a Fragmented Industry

Fleequid replaces a tangle of phone calls and broker markups with a streamlined, transparent marketplace. Sellers list vehicles on the platform with verified documentation: high-resolution photos, inspection reports, and videos. Buyers then compete in real-time online auctions, with Fleequid handling the entire transaction—payment, ownership transfer, and logistics.

Early traction has been strong. Within months of launch, the startup sold hundreds of buses to buyers from countries including Romania, Iraq, Ghana, and across the EU. Key markets include Italy, Poland, Germany, and Spain—regions that rely heavily on passenger transport for tourism and rural mobility.

Investors Back Insider Disruption

For DFF Ventures, this is their second Italian investment. Partner Maarten Engelen praised Fleequid’s market knowledge and execution: “The Battaglia brothers are industry insiders with the drive to disrupt. Fleequid isn’t just digitizing a market—it’s creating a new operating system for how buses are traded.”

The funding will fuel Fleequid’s European expansion, platform upgrades, and team growth. The goal: make buying a bus as seamless as clicking “buy now.”

As the traditional resale ecosystem gives way to data-driven transactions, Fleequid is positioning itself as the new standard in commercial bus trading.
