France’s Infinite Orbits Secures €40M to Accelerate Europe’s Satellite-Servicing Ambitions

SpaceTech startup Infinite Orbits lands €40 million for satellite servicing growth

French SpaceTech startup Infinite Orbits has closed an oversubscribed €40 million round to scale its in-orbit servicing fleet and cement its position as one of Europe’s leading players in GEO satellite inspection and life-extension.

The Toulouse-based company will use the funding to deploy its next generation of servicing spacecraft and expand operations across Europe, with new offices planned in Luxembourg, Spain, the UK, Germany and Poland.

The round drew participation from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, alongside Matterwave Ventures, Wind Capital, Balnord, IRDI and Newfund Capital. It follows Infinite Orbits’ €12 million raise in 2024 to build its first life-extension satellite, Endurance.

A Vote of Confidence for European In-Orbit Servicing

CEO Adel Haddoud said the investment demonstrates the growing alignment of European capital around sovereign satellite-servicing capabilities.

“With its positioning, the relevance of its service offering, and the excellence of its technical expertise, Infinite Orbits clearly stood out as the ideal European candidate, earning the confidence of customers and investors,” Haddoud noted.

The EIC Fund echoed that sentiment, calling the company’s technology—aimed at extending satellite life and improving sustainability—“the kind of breakthrough innovation Europe needs.”

Investor Wind Capital highlighted the strength of Infinite Orbits’ technical team as a core reason for joining the round, while Matterwave Ventures pointed to the company’s commercially focused use cases in GEO and its growing relevance for Europe’s sovereign defense infrastructure.

Momentum Across Europe’s SpaceTech Niches

The raise comes against a backdrop of renewed but uneven funding activity across European SpaceTech in 2025. Startups in adjacent verticals have pulled in roughly €111 million this year, including:

  • Look Up (France) – €50M for radar-based space-traffic management
  • HyImpulse Technologies (Germany) – €45M for launch and propulsion systems
  • Spaceflux (UK) – €6.1M to scale satellite tracking
  • Kreios Space (Spain) – €8M Seed for very low-orbit propulsion
  • EDGX (Belgium) – €2.3M for onboard edge computing

While the broader orbital-logistics segment is gaining momentum, recent reporting from EU-Startups notes that the UK continues to trail continental Europe in SpaceTech investment, with France and Germany dominating initiatives tied to sovereign space capabilities.

Rapid Expansion Backed by €150M in Orders

Founded in 2017, Infinite Orbits develops in-orbit servicing spacecraft powered by its Rendez Vous autonomous vision-based navigation technology. The company currently holds a €150 million order book for the next three years—one of the key factors that helped secure this latest round.

As part of its expansion strategy, the startup aims to replicate its partnerships with French sovereign institutions across Europe, aligning with EU ambitions to strengthen autonomy and resilience in orbit.

The new capital will accelerate deployment of satellites dedicated to GEO inspection and life-extension—two areas seen as essential for securing and sustaining orbital assets amid rising congestion and operational risk.

Setting the Stage for Post-2030 Use Cases

With this raise, Infinite Orbits moves into a new growth phase—one that could significantly increase its backlog and pave the way for new commercial, defense and dual-use applications beyond 2030.

As Europe competes to build out sovereign space-servicing and orbital-logistics capabilities, Infinite Orbits’ latest milestone positions it as one of the continent’s most assertive contenders in the race to shape next-generation infrastructure in GEO.
