Cropin unveils AI-powered agriculture ecosystem with Google Cloud, BCG and Wipro

Cropin is a leading AgTech company offering a SaaS-based platform for smart farming and agriculture digitization.

Agri-tech company Cropin has launched an AI-driven “Cropin Ecosystem” aimed at helping global food and agriculture businesses manage risks arising from climate change, supply-chain disruption and geopolitical instability.

Designed as a plug-and-play platform, the ecosystem brings together technology providers, consulting firms, cloud and AI partners, along with satellite and weather-intelligence companies. The goal is to make agricultural supply chains more predictable, transparent and resilient at a time of growing volatility.

The launch comes as consumer goods manufacturers, retailers and commodity traders grapple with fluctuating crop yields, pricing uncertainty and availability challenges, while also facing stricter sustainability, traceability and compliance requirements.

“The traditional crop value chain is no longer fit for purpose in a world shaped by climate and geopolitical disruption,” said Krishna Kumar, founder and CEO of Cropin. He added that the ecosystem enables agri-food companies to implement AI-led transformation in less than six months, improving supply assurance and reducing procurement risk.

The Cropin Ecosystem combines strategic advisory support from Boston Consulting Group, digital integration services from Wipro and Global HITSS, and cloud and AI infrastructure from Google Cloud. It also incorporates satellite data from sources such as Planet Labs and NASA-linked programmes, climate intelligence from weather-data providers, and enterprise integrations with platforms including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce.

Cropin plans to expand the ecosystem over time by onboarding additional AI, IoT, drone and research partners, as demand grows for technology-driven solutions to stabilise food production and agricultural supply chains in an increasingly uncertain global environment.

Sashikumar Sreedharan, managing director of Google Cloud India, said the collaboration would help turn vast volumes of agricultural data into predictive intelligence, supporting the development of more resilient food systems at scale.

Cropin added that development partners, including the Gates Foundation, alongside multilateral institutions such as the World Bank and IFC, are supporting the ethical and sustainable deployment of the ecosystem, particularly in areas related to food security and climate resilience.
