Stockholm-based fintech Quartr has raised $18 million in a new funding round led by existing investor Altos Ventures, with participation from new investor SEB Venture Capital.
The investment will help Quartr accelerate product development and expand its global coverage of first-party investor relations data as demand for AI-powered financial research continues to grow.
With the new financing, Altos Ventures has become Quartr’s largest shareholder, signaling continued confidence in the company’s growth and long-term potential.
Building an AI data layer for financial research
Quartr positions itself as an AI infrastructure layer for company research, providing structured, real-time data directly from public companies.
Its platform focuses particularly on live public-company events and investor relations data, including earnings calls and other corporate communications.
The company operates two main products:
- Quartr Pro, an AI-powered research platform used by hedge funds, asset managers, equity researchers and investor-relations professionals.
- Quartr API, which provides structured company data to companies and developers building financial applications and AI tools.
More than 800 financial institutions and technology companies currently use Quartr, according to the company.
Triple-digit growth
Quartr says it continues to grow at triple-digit rates, while maintaining strong unit economics.
Its Net Revenue Retention (NRR) is approximately 120%, indicating that existing customers are expanding their spending with the platform over time.
The company’s customer base includes some of the world’s largest hedge funds, asset managers and technology companies, putting Quartr in a strong position as institutional finance increasingly incorporates AI into research workflows.
First-party data becomes increasingly valuable
The funding comes as financial institutions and AI companies compete for access to high-quality, structured data.
While large language models can process enormous amounts of information, financial research requires accurate and timely primary sources. Quartr’s focus is therefore not simply on building another AI research interface, but on providing the underlying first-party data infrastructure that AI systems and financial professionals can use.
The company believes this market is already worth billions of dollars and is undergoing a rapid shift toward AI-powered workflows.
The new capital will be used to accelerate product development and broaden Quartr’s coverage, allowing the company to capture a larger share of the global market for institutional company research.
Backed by Altos and SEB
The latest round strengthens Quartr’s relationship with Altos Ventures, which has backed the company previously and is now its largest shareholder.
New investor SEB Venture Capital also joins the shareholder base, adding strategic backing from one of Sweden’s major financial institutions.
For Quartr, the funding represents another step in its ambition to become the underlying data infrastructure for AI-driven financial research — connecting primary corporate information with the investors, financial institutions and technology companies building the next generation of research tools.
