Nijmegen’s Gravity Gardens Raises €2.6M for Dry, Chemical-Free Seed Activation Technology

Gravity Gardens raises €2.6 million seed round for dry, chemical-free seed activation technology

Gravity Gardens, a Nijmegen-based AgriTech startup, has secured a €2.6 million Seed round combining equity investment with EFRO regional development funding. Founded in 2024, the company has now raised more than €3 million in total since its founding.

The Round

The round was backed by VP CapitalBrightlands Venture PartnersGraduate Ventures, and a group of private investors, alongside EFRO regional development funding.

The company said the new capital will support industrial-scale equipment development and larger trial programmes across new crops.

The Technology

Gravity Gardens develops a dry seed activation process that uses no water, no chemicals, and leaves no coating on the seed, aimed at improving crop establishment. The approach is designed to give growers a way to boost germination and early crop performance without introducing the water use, chemical inputs, or seed coatings typically associated with conventional seed treatment methods.

What’s Next

With the new funding, Gravity Gardens is focused on two priorities: developing industrial-scale equipment to bring its dry activation process to commercial volumes, and running larger trial programmes across a broader range of crops to validate the technology beyond its initial use cases.
