Flox Intelligence, a Stockholm-based startup building AI-driven systems to prevent human-wildlife conflict, has secured €2.5M ($3M) in a Seed+ funding round to accelerate deployments across North America.
The round was led by Tilia Impact Ventures, with participation from Satgana, GENIUS NY, J.O.S.S., and existing investors Unconventional Ventures and Almi Invest.
Flox develops edge-based autonomous AI systems — including its commercial product Edge — that guide wildlife away from high-risk zones near airports, roads, railways, and industrial sites. The technology combines real-time sensing, applied wildlife science, and AI, replacing reactive deterrents like scarecrows, pyrotechnics, and fences with proactive, adaptive systems.
CEO and co-founder Sara Nozkova said:
“For decades, we’ve relied on reactive tools that don’t scale. Flox Intelligence is building a future where critical infrastructure can proactively prevent conflict, respect animal movement, and ensure people and wildlife coexist safely.”
Founded in 2020 by Nozkova and Tomas Becklin, Flox spun out of KTH Royal Institute of Technology and recently moved its commercial HQ to the United States. Its systems have already logged over 60,000 wildlife events across 27 species, with measurable reductions in wildlife presence in high-risk areas.
The funding will accelerate North American deployments, support infrastructure across airports, rail corridors, roads, and industrial sites, and meet growing international demand for AI-enabled wildlife management. Key partners include the U.S. Department of Agriculture, WWF, GRR Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Boliden, and Alstom.
