The incubator at Innovatum Science Park helps entrepreneurs in Western Sweden to turn their innovative ideas into reality.
The team of advisors is now strengthened with Jan Björn, founder of the drone startup FlyPulse.
The recruitment will help to strengthen the position in industrial technology and attract more startups with links to Industry 4.0.
– We are very happy to have Jan on board. Jan’s entrepreneurial background combined with his technical knowledge will be of great benefit to our startups. Jan has previously helped several of our entrepreneurs in their technical product development and has been highly appreciated, says Eivind Vogel-Rödin, Head of Startup Operations.
Jan Björn will primarily work as an advisor to startups within Innovatum Science Park’s cutting-edge area of industrial technology. These may be companies that create innovative products or services using new technologies such as AI, VR, sensors, automation and space technology, or those working with additive manufacturing and various types of solutions that help industry to change.
– It’s great fun and inspiring to be back on the startup scene and this time by helping entrepreneurs on their journey! Through the incubator, I got an incredible amount of business help when I was running FlyPulse and I’m now looking forward to giving back by helping others,” says Jan Björn.
Business and technical experience
As an advisor, Jan brings both business and technical experience. In 2017, he founded the startup FlyPulse, whose autonomous drone system has received worldwide attention. In 2018, Jan and his co-founders received Swedbank’s honourable Rivstart scholarship and in 2019 he won Startup of the Year in Trollhättan.
FlyPulse drones have been used in a variety of fields – from delivering defibrillators and medicines to automating work at airports and helping energy companies become more efficient.
-Throughout my startup journey, I have learned a lot about running companies in both headwinds. I hope and believe that my experience will be of great benefit to the startups in the incubator. I also want to help more people with good ideas to take the plunge and invest. There is great help to be had!
Jan Björn also has a background as a programmer and technology consultant with expertise in sensor technology, product development and embedded systems.
Want to attract startups from all over the country to Trollhättan
In 2021, Innovatum Science Park adopted a new direction with the aim of becoming a national hub for innovation and sustainable solutions in industrial technology. The recruitment is a step in the strategy is to attract industrial startups from all over the country to Trollhättan.
– The offer that we can offer this type of company is actually unique in Sweden. Our incubator is rated excellent by the Swedish innovation agency Vinnova. Innovatum Science Park has one of the country’s largest project portfolios with a large network of small and large companies, which creates great opportunities for our startups. In addition, through the Production Technology Centre, our entrepreneurs have access to a testing and demo environment that really stands out,” concludes Eivind.
