Amsterdam-Based Verify Secures €1 Million Funding to Expand Revolutionary Digital Authenticity Solution

Amsterdam, April 18, 2024 – Verify, a pioneering artificial intelligence startup headquartered in Amsterdam, has announced a significant milestone in its journey to revolutionize digital authenticity. The company has successfully raised €1 million in funding from prominent investors, including serial entrepreneurs Niels Bouwman and Chris Hall, alongside support from tech giant Google through its Google for Startups Cloud Program.

Niels Bouwman, renowned as the founder and former CEO of Lytho, steps into the role of CEO at Verify, bringing with him a wealth of experience and vision. Chris Hall, recognized as the founder of Bynder, joins Verify’s Supervisory Board, further bolstering the company’s leadership team. Meanwhile, Hugo Smits, the visionary behind Verify and a former tech lead at Nintendo, will continue to serve as the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

This funding injection will enable Verify to onboard top-tier AI developers and data scientists, fueling its mission to expand across Europe and the United States through strategic partnerships with industry leaders like Bynder and Lytho. Among Verify’s initial clients are Vinci Energies, Erasmus University, and the Dutch national union FNV.

Founded in 2022, Verify aims to instill trust in the digital landscape through its innovative AI algorithm. This algorithm embeds an invisible fingerprint in images and videos, providing an unparalleled level of authenticity verification, with a certainty rate of 100%.

The implications of this technology are vast. By leveraging Verify’s AI monitoring service, digital media files can be traced anywhere online, combating the proliferation of fake news, addressing copyright infringements, and discerning between human-generated and AI-generated content.

Niels Bouwman, CEO of Verify, emphasized the critical need for such technology in today’s digital ecosystem, stating, “With billions of images uploaded daily, the lack of traceability poses a significant challenge for organizations and content creators. Our aim is to empower them with the ability to track and understand the journey of their visual assets, thereby transforming the digital realm into a trustworthy environment.”

Chris Hall, Verify’s Board Member, echoed Bouwman’s sentiments, highlighting the importance of reclaiming control over visual content in an era dominated by artificial intelligence. “As the boundaries between human and AI-generated content blur, the need for robust authenticity measures becomes paramount. Verify’s solution fills this crucial gap, offering brands and creators the tools they need to safeguard their content and reputation,” Hall remarked.

With its groundbreaking technology and visionary leadership, Verify is poised to set the global standard for digital authenticity and provenance, ushering in a new era of trust and transparency in the digital landscape.
