What your startup is about?
Manufacturing solar-powered lights. We mainly deal with solar recyclers. After 20-30 years, solar panels degrade and start losing their efficiency, so they end up in landfills. These solar cells still produce energy but not a lot, yet, they produce enough to power LEDs and charge small batteries, so we use them to manufacture solar lights.
What is the story behind your company?
I’m a solar engineer, I started this company with 2 of my friends 4 years ago as a way to reduce our carbon footprint and we ended up going full-time.
What does success mean to you and your company?
We’ll only rest when we recycle all solar panels in landfills and make solar-powered products from them.
What is your plan of action for the next 5 years to sustain and grow your business?
We are currently trying to get Walmart and other retailers to sell our lights. We are doing great online but getting these big retailers to sell our products would be a great step forward.
Who are your biggest competitors, and how do you differentiate yourself from them?
Our biggest competitors are Litom, Davinci lighting, and TOMCARE, we differentiate ourselves from them by using recycled solar panels.
