PIZZIUM and the expansion plan 22/23: more than 20 new openings

PIZZIUM continues its development plan in the biennium 2022/23, after closing the year 2021 in growth, with +25% on 2020 and an Ebitda margin above 20%. The next openings will concern the North, the Center and the South of Italy and will create real job opportunities and professional growth in a young and inclusive context able to guarantee all employees the same possibilities.
Therefore, a development that has never stopped even in the most difficult moments of the pandemic continues: very few days of closure, important investments on the ESG front, delivery and technological infrastructure for order management and online bookings. The project, born in 2017 from the collaboration between Stefano Saturnino and Nanni Arbellini, in 5 years since the first opening in Via Procaccini in Milan, has brought the number of Neapolitan pizzerias to 24, of which 7 only in the city of Milan. In 2021, 4 new pizzerias will be opened in Piedmont, Emilia Romagna, Lazio and Lombardy. Confirming the success of the format, in September 2021 the private equity firm Equinox entered the corporate structure with the acquisition of 40% of PIZZIUM’s capital, an operation that saw a mix of indivisible capital increase of 6 million euros and purchase of shares from the previous shareholders.

Stefano Saturnino, CEO of PIZZIUM.

“In 2021, our strategy allowed us to limit our losses compared to the market: in all quarters we performed better than the average of the restaurant industry, facing the pandemic scenario with great flexibility from the entire organization,” says Stefano Saturnino, CEO of PIZZIUM. “Now we are ready with an ambitious development and expansion plan that we want to pursue in the next two years. We plan, in fact, to double the current size with the opening of at least 20 new pizzerias, strengthening our presence in the geographical areas where we already have stores and bringing the brand to new cities as well.”

Following the development plan, 6 new openings are planned in the first half of the year, including Florence, Turin, Genoa and Salerno, all in strategic and central locations.
The unmistakable gastronomic offer proposed will continue to range from the beloved classic and regional pizzas, with high quality local DOP and IGP ingredients, to a selection of unique dishes and desserts of the best Italian tradition.
