Move, pedal, reduce Co2 emissions and win with MUV!

In Europe, more than a quarter of CO2 emissions are generated by the transport sector. To mitigate the effects of climate change, it has been agreed to reduce global net emissions to zero by 2050 and aim to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C. Investing in climate adaptation is now the only way for companies to ensure future growth. In addition, the Italian regulatory framework requires companies with more than 100 employees to comply with mobility management guidelines.

On these foundations, after 8 years of research and partnerships with more than 20 international organizations in 21 cities around the world, in January 2020, MUV B Corp, a tech startup with a social vocation with a clear goal, was born. “We want to encourage responsible and healthy behaviors by promoting sports competitions. Thanks to our technology, we are able to measure progress by certifying the reduction of CO2 and, through the data collected, contribute to the creation of mobility plans for entities, companies and institutions”. Explains Domenico Schillaci, CEO of MUV

An app to change the world

MUV’s technology revolves around an app, available for iOS and Android, that allows to organize and participate in competitions able to transform sustainable mobility into a real Sport, but above all it offers the opportunity to act on global challenges such as the fight against climate change. The market response to this startup has been surprising.

A busy calendar of sustainable events

“Thanks to an agreement with Dott, the startup of electric scooters, we have realized events that have been real sustainable mobility challenges in Palermo and Monza, but soon we will be in other Italian cities. From September to November 2021 MUV, with U-MOB Life, organized the Tournament of sustainable mobility between 16 European Universities: over 2,200 users, 319,185 sustainable kilometers, which if they had been traveled by car would correspond to 42.5 tons of CO2 emissions”. Schillaci continues. “Our roadmap of events is packed. Challenges and tournaments are planned during 2022, in partnership with companies that share the same values, in the main Italian and European cities and we will launch Serie MUV, the sustainability championship for football fans.”

Fundraising on CrossFund

MUV is a typical example of Italian startup with a strong international propensity. Sport, climate, sustainability, are values that interest everyone and that do not suffer from geographical or language barriers. For this reason, the young B Corp has decided to launch a fundraising campaign using CrossFund, the innovative international platform of Angels that raises capital from a core of Asian and European investors accredited by invitation only.

“As an Italian and as a Sicilian, I am always proud to have on board a startup like MUV, but beyond the common origins, we believe that the potential of the team, the vision of this startup and the technology they have been able to develop internally, represent assets that are really worth investing in”. Says Davide Calì, co-founder of CrossFund.

In less than six months of activity, CrossFund has already launched 11 campaigns with a monthly average of 600 thousand dollars.

Recall that CrossFund is a portal born in Singapore in July 2021 and that in less than six months has already 11 campaigns with an average monthly collection that has reached 600 thousand dollars.
