During the launch of the Advanced Engineering meeting place on 15-16 June at Kistamässan, ESA BIC Sweden is organising a pitchevent with space technology startups
On 15 June between 11am and 12pm, investors and visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to listen to some of Sweden’s most innovative startups in space.
Innovative startups Norbite, Porkchop and Percyroc will take the stage to pitch their business ideas. The event will be moderated by Sammie Chimusoro, business coach for Innovatum Science Park and ESA BIC Sweden.
“From obtaining funding to tackling tomorrow’s global challenges, we help Swedish entrepreneurs develop companies that use satellite applications and space technology to improve everyday life on Earth. ESA BIC Sweden is always on the lookout for innovative ideas driven by space innovation that can benefit life on Earth. There is more to space than rocket science! Come and be inspired and informed about how ESA BIC Sweden’s startups are applying space-related technologies to develop sustainable solutions,” says Sammie Chimusoro.
ESA BIC Sweden has supported almost 40 space technology startups since its launch in December 2015. ESA BIC Sweden is run by Arctic Business in the Northern Region, in collaboration with Uppsala Innovation Center in the Capital Region, Innovatum in the Western Region and Ideon Innovation in the Southern Region. ESA BIC is Sweden’s largest space initiative supporting startups and entrepreneurs. Several Swedish start-ups have been helped to launch their businesses and create regional high-tech jobs.
All ESA BIC-supported companies receive support for project initiation and can also benefit from additional support resources. The offer includes €50,000, the opportunity to work with ESA, 80 hours of technical support from some of the space industry’s largest companies, access to the ESA IP Bank.
“We are extremely pleased to have ESA BIC Sweden as a partner to Advanced Engineering. At Advanced Engineering you will meet world-class Swedish innovation and space is an important part of that. ESA BIC Sweden is an important national player in space, ensuring that new ideas are realised and driving Swedish space innovation forward. Many of our visitors have a genuine interest in space and ESA BIC Sweden adds great value to the venue,” says Helena Crivei, Head of Cluster for Easyfair’s industrial concept.
Advanced Engineering is Sweden’s only meeting place that focuses on product development and sourcing for the manufacturing industry. On 15-16 June 2022, the meeting place will be held at Kistamässan in parallel with Elektronikmässan- Sweden’s most important meeting place for the electronics industry.
