Oslo-based fintech Neonomics has secured $4 million in new funding from existing shareholders to support its next phase of growth, following a strategic refocus that cut its operating cost base by almost 50%.
The Funding
The money will support further business expansion, continued growth in open banking payments and the development of higher-value financial data services. Neonomics did not disclose which shareholders took part or give further details of the terms.
The company says the funding follows a restructuring that reduced its operating costs by nearly 50% while keeping its existing customer base and service quality. It has also adjusted its commercial focus and strengthened its team.
Alfonso Muñoz, CEO of Neonomics, said: “We have fundamentally strengthened Neonomics, creating a more focused and efficient business with a clear direction for growth. The combination of a significantly improved cost structure, growing customer demand and continued shareholder support puts us in a strong position to execute on our strategy.”
What Neonomics Does
Neonomics provides open finance infrastructure to businesses across Europe: financial data access, data processing and intelligence, verification and payment services. It is licensed by the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority and authorised to operate across the EU. The company helps businesses connect with financial institutions and integrate financial data and account-to-account payments into their products and workflows.
Muñoz added: “Providing access to financial data is only the starting point. The real value lies in turning that data into intelligence that improves financial products, workflows and decisions. We see significant potential here alongside the continued growth of our payments business.”
Traction
According to the company, new customer acquisition has increased by more than 60% since the beginning of 2026. Growth has come from both payments and financial data, with opportunities emerging in consumer financial services, personal finance, accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
Neonomics will keep developing its open banking payments business while exploring more uses for its data infrastructure. It sees potential in helping businesses go beyond accessing financial data to structuring, enriching and interpreting it for financial products, operational workflows and decision-making.
