Stockholm, Sweden — Swedish startup Cleean has raised SEK 6 million (€550,000 / $630,000) in its first external funding round. The investment was provided by VEQ and will support the company’s expansion of its drone-powered exterior building cleaning services.
Founded in Stockholm, Cleean is modernizing the building maintenance industry with autonomous drone technology designed to clean facades, windows, and rooftops more safely and efficiently than conventional methods.
Instead of relying on scaffolding, lifts, or rope-access teams, the company’s drones perform exterior cleaning from the air, helping property owners reduce costs, minimize operational disruption, and improve worker safety. The technology also enables faster maintenance of high-rise buildings and hard-to-reach surfaces.
The fresh capital will enable Cleean to expand its commercial operations, invest further in its proprietary cleaning technology, and meet growing demand from property owners and facility managers seeking more efficient building maintenance solutions.
Drone-assisted cleaning has gained traction in recent years as commercial real estate owners increasingly look for automation to improve operational efficiency while reducing labor-intensive and potentially hazardous maintenance work. By replacing traditional access methods with remotely operated systems, companies can shorten project timelines and reduce risks associated with working at height.
Cleean is positioning itself within the growing PropTech sector, where robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence are reshaping how commercial buildings are maintained and managed.
The investment from VEQ marks the startup’s first institutional funding and provides additional resources to accelerate growth as demand for technology-enabled property services continues to increase across the Nordic region.
