Lund-based digital healthcare provider Yazen, which helps people lose weight, has announced its largest funding round to date: €50 million ($56 million), led by Verdane. Existing investor Evli Growth Partners also participated.
The Round
Yazen plans to use the new capital to keep expanding and scaling across Europe. It is currently active in eight markets.
The round is larger than expected. A few months ago, co-founder Magnus Nyhlén told Rapidus that Yazen planned to raise a €30 million Series B. The announced financing is not explicitly described as a Series B.
What Yazen Does
Yazen combines weight-loss medication with continuous digital care from a multidisciplinary team. The company cites more than 50,000 patients currently in care and more than 70,000 helped in total, who it says have lost over 880 tonnes in combined weight.
It was founded in 2021 by Fredrik Meurling, Magnus Nyhlén and Martin Carlsson.
