Stockholm-based Solace Care, a platform for legacy planning and guided loss support, is launching in the Netherlands, its fifth market. Its first Dutch partner is the financial advisory firm Bouvy Advies, which advises on mortgages, insurance and financial planning.
Beyond the Nordics
Solace Care has built a base in the Nordic insurance ecosystem across Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. Proving it can grow beyond the Nordics was one of the company’s core milestones. A few months ago it set an action plan, and bringing in Hans Voorn helped speed up progress in the Dutch market.
The company says it has aimed from day one to build a company and product that can scale across Europe, driven by an ageing population and growing demand for new solutions. It describes Europe’s fragmentation, with different cultures and rules in every country, as one of its most interesting product and operational challenges.
The Dutch launch was run by a lean team, which Solace Care sees as a strong signal that it has learned from its founders’ previous ventures and built a solid base for future scaling.
What Solace Care Does
Solace Care offers a platform for legacy planning, helping people plan for the future, and for guided support after the loss of a loved one. It works through partners in the insurance and financial advice ecosystem.
Valtteri Korkiakoski, who announced the launch on LinkedIn, said the company looks forward to working with Thijs Bouvy of Bouvy Advies and others “when change the way we plan for the future and get supported after loss.”
