CleanTech: Sweden's Abundry, Co-Founded by Einride's Founders, Merges with Energy Storage Startup Ertzy to Build a Complete Grid Decision Platform

Abundry, the new Swedish grid intelligence startup co-founded by Einride founders Robert Falck and Filip Lilja, is merging with three-year-old energy storage and software startup Ertzy, which was also founded by Lilja. The announcement was made in Stockholm on October 8, 2026.

Planning Meets Control

Abundry builds energy system planning. Ertzy builds energy asset control. Together they aim to create a complete decision-making platform for more effective energy systems and new growth opportunities for energy-intensive companies. The merged company will operate under the Abundry brand, with the mission of unlocking abundant energy “from a single site to entire regions.”

Abundry launched this summer on the thesis that the next era of energy will be defined not only by how much is built, but by how intelligently existing infrastructure is run. Europe’s grid was built for centralised power flowing one way to consumers who only receive it. Abundry connects energy pricing and access with customer needs in a single asset-steering platform, aiming for a smart grid that communicates both ways.

Anders Åhlén, Abundry’s co-founder and CEO, said: “This merger is as much about speed of execution as it is about expanding our capabilities. Together, we are able to create a holistic intelligence infrastructure to optimize entire systems and unlock vast amounts of value for large energy users, through increased growth capacity and cost savings. This is exactly what both energy intensive companies and grid operators are asking for right now. It’s the main constraint to scale for lots of businesses today queuing for energy access.”

What Ertzy Brings

Founded in 2023, Ertzy is one of few European companies in a market largely dominated by Asian players. It has developed its own energy management system (EMS), embedded control software and BESS (battery energy storage system) architecture, and combines different battery chemistries to improve efficiency.

Ertzy’s planning and asset-control technology becomes a core part of Abundry’s optimisation platform. The platform uses a grid connection as efficiently as possible by coordinating every asset, load and load profile behind it, storing, shifting and releasing energy. Customers can evaluate investments, adapt operations as demand and conditions change, and scale without hitting a power ceiling. The same coordination raises the utilisation of the existing grid.

Philip Berlin, Abundry’s CPO, explained: “By reading power signatures and coordinating assets behind the meter against external signals, we make the gap between contracted and actual load visible. That enables us to optimise the utilisation of existing grid connections and turn observable unused capacity into the foundation for conditional grid connections.”

Early Results

Abundry is already running the platform on a trial basis with customers under NDA. So far, findings indicate that evening out the energy cycle could unlock over 20% growth space for large energy users and producers. The company will initially target data centres, energy production facilities and other energy-intensive industries.

About Abundry

Abundry was founded by Falck and Lilja together with Anders Åhlén and Robert Westerdahl of Material Economics, to build the intelligence layer for energy. It combines digital twins, AI, optimisation and energy-system data to help energy companies, cities, industrial players and infrastructure investors understand, design, finance and secure future energy systems, from a single asset to the entire grid. Abundry is part of the venture builder Navisalma and has joint headquarters in Stockholm.
