Paris-based education technology startup Ed.ai has raised a €5 million Seed round to support its expansion in France and the United States, as demand grows for AI tools that help teachers assess student work.
The Round
The round includes Bpifrance Digital Venture, La Poste Ventures, XAnge, and 50 Partners, alongside existing investors AFI Ventures, CentraleSupélec Venture, Ring Capital, and Super Capital.
The Product
Ed.ai develops an AI assistant, built with teachers, for middle and high school math. The platform can grade handwritten and typed assessments, track student reasoning step by step, assign partial credit, and generate detailed feedback. Beyond grading, it maps questions to curriculum standards, builds skill maps, and creates targeted practice and reteaching material based on student errors.
The company says its platform is already used by more than 500 institutions in France and is being deployed across all 50 US states with its first customers.
What’s Next
The new funding will be used to accelerate rollout in France, scale the company’s US presence, double headcount, and expand the platform into new subjects and higher education, moving beyond its current focus on middle and high school math.
