Alex Therapeutics Exits After Eight Years Through Multiple Asset Sales

Stockholm-based digital health company Alex Therapeutics has exited after eight years, selling its assets to multiple buyers as the company winds down its operations.

The company developed digital therapeutics and companion applications designed to help patients manage treatment-related challenges. Among its products, the Parkinson’s disease application Levilog has been acquired by Norwegian healthcare company Navamedic, which will continue developing and commercializing the product.

Levilog finds a new home

Levilog was developed to support people living with Parkinson’s disease and help address challenges associated with their treatment.

Alex Therapeutics said the application has now found a “long-term home” with Navamedic, which is positioned to continue serving the patients who rely on it.

The transaction is part of a broader exit in which Alex Therapeutics has sold different assets to various buyers rather than completing a single company-wide acquisition.

Eight years in digital therapeutics

Alex Therapeutics was founded with the ambition of demonstrating that digital therapeutics could become a meaningful part of clinical care.

Over its eight-year journey, the company worked with clinicians, patient communities and healthcare partners while navigating clinical development and clinical trials.

According to the company’s leadership, its products ultimately reached hundreds of thousands of patients globally.

The company described the exit as the conclusion of an ambitious effort to establish digital therapeutics as a credible component of healthcare delivery.

From startup to exit

The shutdown marks the end of one of Sweden’s early digital-therapeutics ventures at a time when the health-tech sector continues to evolve toward evidence-based digital interventions.

Alex Therapeutics’ journey reflects both the opportunities and challenges of building healthcare technology: products need to demonstrate clinical value while also navigating regulatory requirements, healthcare adoption and sustainable commercial models.

For Levilog, the asset sale means the product will continue under new ownership rather than disappearing with the startup.

Alex Therapeutics thanked its investors, shareholders, partners and employees for supporting the company throughout its eight-year journey.
