Online language learning platform eTalk has announced that it has raised $100k in seed funding from UK-based private equity firm Digital Leaves.
Founded by a Ukrainian-born entrepreneur, eTalk is an online school for learning languages through video calls in a virtual classroom. The English language courses involve one-on-one instruction with experienced native English-speaking teachers to develop practical skills.
The online school has been operating for just under two years but has shown positive cash flow. The company has reached a break-even point.
The funds raised will be used to validate hypotheses before scaling the online school to the global market.
