Amsterdam’s Blue Health Intelligence Raises €3.4M to Make Preventive Health More Accessible

HealthTech Funding: Amsterdam's Blue Health Intelligence Raises €3.4M to Make Preventive Health More Accessible

Amsterdam-based preventive healthcare startup Blue Health Intelligence has raised €3.4 million in funding to expand internationally and further develop its products.

The Round

The round was led by Knop Investments, with participation from several entrepreneurs, including Jeroen Tas, former Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer at Philips, and Dutch lifestyle influencer Anna Nooshin. The latest funding follows an earlier round in which the Dutch startup raised more than €1.1 million.

Maurits Koning, Managing Director at Knop Investments, pointed to early traction behind the investment: “Over the past year, Blue Health Intelligence has demonstrated that there is a demand for insight into one’s personal health. More than 2,000 people have now booked a health check, and the Amsterdam location is fully booked through November. With this investment, we want to give Leanne, Onno and the team the opportunity to further develop their products and enter new markets together.”

The Problem

Onno Huyghe, CEO and co-founder of Blue Health Intelligence, explained the gap the company is addressing: “In countries such as Japan, Germany and the UK, periodic health checks are already embedded in the healthcare system, but unfortunately that is not yet the case in the Netherlands. By gaining earlier insight into their health, people can stay healthy for longer and health issues can be prevented. With our affordable health checkup, we aim to make prevention more accessible to many people.”

The Product

Blue Health Intelligence was founded in 2025 by former Swapfiets and Tibber CCO Onno Huyghe and doctor and healthcare entrepreneur Leanne Verdonck. The company offers a 360-degree health check that gives people a detailed look at their health in about one hour, priced at €299.

During the appointment, hundreds of data points are collected to assess areas such as heart health, metabolism, and liver and kidney function. A doctor discusses the results with the customer immediately, and the results are then added to the Blue app. All tests are carried out and reviewed on-site by the company’s own medical team.

Blue Health Intelligence currently works with partners including TrainMore, Hotel & Wellness Zuiver, and Fosbury & Sons Amsterdam.

International Expansion

Alongside strong growth in the Netherlands, Blue Health Intelligence is now looking to expand internationally, with Italy and France identified as its most attractive next markets. Huyghe explained: “Italy and France are the most attractive markets for us, although finding the right location can still be something of a puzzle. Our own research shows that Paris and Milan offer at least as much potential as Amsterdam. We expect to launch in one of those two cities during the first half of 2027. This will bring us another step closer to our ambition of becoming Europe’s leading preventive health platform.”
