Swedish ClimateTech startup Aire has secured SEK 15 million (€1.4 million / $1.5 million) in fresh funding to accelerate the development of its AI-powered energy optimization platform and support its international expansion.
The investment round was led by existing investor Spectria Invest, with Starbright Invest joining as a new investor. The funding follows a year of rapid growth, during which Aire quadrupled its net revenue, expanded into Finland, and strengthened its strategic partnerships and leadership team.
Formerly operating as Energy Director, the Jönköping-based startup develops software that helps owners of renewable energy assets maximize profitability through artificial intelligence. As electricity markets become increasingly complex due to the rapid adoption of renewable energy, battery storage, and flexible energy resources, Aire enables operators to make smarter real-time decisions.
Its platform continuously optimizes a wide range of energy assets, including:
- Wind farms
- Solar power installations
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Hydropower facilities
- EV charging infrastructure
- Industrial energy assets
By combining AI-driven forecasting, automated optimization, and market intelligence, Aire helps customers increase revenues while supporting a more flexible and resilient energy system.
According to CEO Gustav Österström, demand for intelligent energy management continues to grow as Europe’s energy transition accelerates.
“The transition to a more flexible and sustainable energy system is creating a growing demand for intelligent control and optimization of energy assets.”
The newly raised capital will be invested in:
- Further product development
- Expanding internationally
- Strengthening the AI optimization platform
- Scaling commercial operations across Europe
Investors believe Aire is well positioned to become an important technology provider for the next generation of energy infrastructure.
As renewable energy production continues to increase, balancing electricity supply and demand is becoming one of the industry’s biggest challenges. AI-powered optimization platforms like Aire enable asset owners to react instantly to changing market conditions while improving both operational efficiency and financial returns.
With fresh funding and growing international demand, Aire is emerging as one of Sweden’s promising ClimateTech startups helping build a smarter, more flexible, and increasingly sustainable European energy system.
