Stockholm-based startup HI Assessments, an assessment platform focused on smarter hiring and talent development, has raised SEK 5 million (€460K) in its first funding round from a group of prominent angel investors.
The round attracted notable backers including psychologist and podcast host Björn Hedensjö, communicator Lina Thomsgård, and Stefan Palm, alongside several experienced entrepreneurs and operators.
Challenging Traditional Hiring Assessments
Founded by Matilda Sandström, Sofia Palmelius Kolga, and Sofie Falck, the company is rethinking how candidate assessments are used in recruitment.
The founders, all with prior experience in the assessment industry, saw a key gap: existing tools often reduce candidates to static scores without context.
HI Assessments aims to replace that with a more dynamic, human-centric approach — identifying stable personality traits while providing actionable insights for both hiring and long-term team development.
From Recruitment Tool to Organizational Insight
The platform goes beyond hiring decisions. It is designed to support onboarding and team dynamics by helping companies understand how individuals will function within a broader organizational context.
For example, insights from the platform can inform how teams are structured or how onboarding processes are tailored to different personality types.
Early Traction and Ambitious Growth Plans
Since launching in November 2025, HI Assessments has already reached SEK 3 million in annual recurring revenue.
The team is targeting SEK 10 million ARR by the end of 2026 and aims to scale to SEK 150–200 million in ARR within five years.
International expansion is a core part of the strategy. The company already has a partner in France and plans to enter additional markets, positioning itself beyond the competitive Nordic region.
Strong Investor Signal
The round values HI Assessments at approximately SEK 90 million and reflects strong investor confidence not only in the product but in the founding team.
Investors have pointed to the founders’ energy and fresh perspective as a key reason for backing the company — particularly in a space often seen as rigid and outdated.
Redefining a Traditional Industry
As companies place increasing emphasis on culture fit, team dynamics, and long-term performance, assessment tools are becoming more strategic.
HI Assessments is betting that the future of hiring won’t be about scoring candidates — but understanding them.
