Berlin-based startup WALLROUND has secured €4.2 million in seed funding to expand its tech-driven approach to energy-efficient building renovations. The oversubscribed round was led by Revent, with participation from GGF, Vonovia, and several other backers.
Founded in 2024, WALLROUND is tackling one of Europe’s toughest challenges: modernising the fragmented and outdated renovation sector. Its platform integrates every step of the process—from property analysis and planning to procurement, construction, and quality assurance—into a single streamlined system.
The fresh capital will support the company’s expansion across Germany, automation of planning workflows, and team growth in technology, operations, and product development. WALLROUND has also established an advisory board, joined by Kai Enders, former DACH CEO of Engel & Völkers and long-time president of the German Franchise Association.
“We’ve watched the energy renovation space for a long time. But WALLROUND is the first team we’ve seen to combine an end-to-end tech solution with operational excellence. This is what the future of renovations looks like,” said Dr Lauren Lentz, General Partner at Revent.
With rising regulatory pressure and demand for energy-efficient upgrades, real estate owners are under growing pressure to decarbonise their properties. Yet, many renovation processes remain manual, slow, and costly. WALLROUND’s model promises landlords faster, more profitable upgrades while helping them stay compliant with tightening climate policies.
“Our goal is to simplify renovations to the point that anyone can decarbonise their building—profitably,” said Lukas Steinhilber, CEO and co-founder of WALLROUND. “We’re not just offering a service; we’re building a scalable system to meet the massive demand ahead.”
The company is targeting an underserved market of private landlords and institutional investors, who control a significant portion of Germany’s housing stock. By consolidating and digitising renovation efforts, WALLROUND aims to accelerate the energy transition in Europe’s real estate sector.
Backers in this round include Revent, GGF, Vonovia, KVL Group, Founders Factory, S&B Capital, Superangels, and angel investor Marc Müller.
“Building renovation is an opportunity to create meaningful impact while building a massive business,” said Friedrich Neuman, Partner at GGF. “WALLROUND’s vision to build Europe’s largest renovation franchise comes at a pivotal moment, helping landlords avoid stranded assets while driving the energy transition.”
With a scalable platform and heavyweight backers, WALLROUND is positioning itself as a key player in Europe’s push to modernise buildings, cut emissions, and meet climate targets.
