LONDON, United Kingdom — DITTO, a UK-based FemTech startup combining scientific research, community education, and evidence-based nutritional supplements, has raised €5.2 million ($6 million) in Seed funding to accelerate research into menstrual health and expand its product portfolio.
The round was led by FoodLabs, with participation from returning investor EKA Ventures and several angel investors. The company plans to use the funding to broaden its science-backed supplement range, expand ongoing clinical research, and reach more women experiencing menstrual health challenges.
Bridging the Women’s Health Research Gap
Founded in 2024 by neuroscientist and nutrition scientist Alice van der Schoot together with former L’Oréal Brand Director Adam Kugler, DITTO is focused on addressing one of healthcare’s most overlooked areas: menstrual and hormone-related conditions.
The company combines original scientific research with educational content and targeted nutritional products designed to help women better understand and manage menstrual symptoms.
According to DITTO, millions of women continue to face limited access to reliable information and evidence-based treatment options for conditions that have historically received insufficient medical research.
Science-Driven Supplements
DITTO’s flagship product, Premenstrual Daily, is designed to support women experiencing Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and related hormone-driven symptoms.
Unlike supplements that target symptoms only after they appear, Premenstrual Daily aims to proactively improve the body’s resilience to hormonal changes by combining clinically researched ingredients with advanced nutrient delivery technology intended to maximize absorption.
The company reports that an initial clinical trial of the finished formulation found that 88% of participants experienced a significant reduction in symptoms. Larger clinical studies and real-world evidence programs are now underway.
Combining Research, Education, and Community
Beyond product development, DITTO has built a growing educational platform that translates emerging scientific research into accessible information for a community of more than 300,000 women.
The company also conducts its own research projects, including investigations into underexplored areas of women’s health such as the relationship between Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Co-founder and Chief Scientist Alice van der Schoot says too many women are told their symptoms are “normal” or dismissed without receiving evidence-based guidance, leaving significant gaps in diagnosis and treatment.
Investors Back Evidence-Based FemTech
Lead investor FoodLabs believes scientific validation is becoming a key differentiator in the rapidly growing women’s health market.
According to Operating Partner Flo Breiner, DITTO is building more than a supplement brand—it is creating a research platform that develops clinically supported health products while establishing new standards for evidence-based menstrual care.
The company also highlights its proprietary nutrient delivery technology, strong customer retention, and engaged community as competitive advantages.
Growing Momentum in Women’s Health Innovation
Women’s health has become one of the fastest-growing sectors in digital health and biotechnology, attracting increasing investor interest as startups address longstanding gaps in research, diagnostics, and treatment.
By combining neuroscience, nutrition science, clinical research, and community engagement, DITTO aims to create a new model for evidence-based FemTech products that empower women with both scientifically validated solutions and accessible health information.
With fresh funding and multiple clinical studies underway, the company plans to continue expanding its research platform while bringing more science-backed solutions to women seeking better support for menstrual and hormonal health.
