UK HealthTech Startup Calibre Emerges from Stealth with €2.8 Million to End “Health Guesswork”

LONDON, United Kingdom — HealthTech startup Calibre has emerged from stealth mode after raising €2.8 million (£2.5 million) in pre-seed funding and unveiling its vision to transform preventive healthcare through what it calls “Causal Health Navigation.”

The London-based company aims to help people better understand their health by combining diagnostics, clinical expertise, and AI-powered analysis into a personalized, proactive healthcare experience designed to identify the root causes behind health issues before they become serious conditions.

The funding round was led by Berlin-based Amino Collective, with participation from Daybreak Ventures, Cocoa Ventures, and a network of healthcare experts, founders, and operators. Notable angel investors include Gousto founder Timo Boldt and N26 co-founder Maximilian Tayenthal.

Founded in 2025, Calibre was created by a team with experience across fintech, consumer technology, and healthcare. The founding team includes Alexander Weber, former Chief Growth Officer at N26; Ben Levy, former CTO of HealthTech companies Elvie and Manual; and Dr. Reinhold Innerhofer, a physician and sports scientist who serves as the company’s Chief Medical Officer.

The startup believes that modern healthcare systems remain largely reactive, focusing on treating illness rather than helping individuals understand and optimize their health before problems arise.

“Over the last years, we have been witnessing a generational shift in how people think about health—from health being the absence of sickness to it being the foundation to live life fully,” said Alexander Weber, co-founder and CEO of Calibre. “People are increasingly left alone by traditional systems and forced into an era of health guesswork. Calibre is what comes next: a proactive health partner for life that deeply understands your full picture, tells you what’s actually driving your health, and guides you as your health evolves.”

Introducing Causal Health Navigation

At the center of Calibre’s approach is a new category it calls Causal Health Navigation.

Rather than simply tracking symptoms or providing generic wellness recommendations, the platform seeks to identify the underlying factors influencing an individual’s health by connecting multiple data sources, including medical history, lifestyle behaviors, environmental factors, and diagnostic testing.

The company combines clinician oversight with AI-driven analysis to create a continuously evolving picture of each member’s health, offering personalized recommendations designed to improve daily performance while reducing long-term health risks.

Calibre argues that this approach can help address a growing gap between people’s desire to improve their health and their ability to understand what actions will have the greatest impact.

A Growing Demand for Personalized Health Guidance

The startup enters the market at a time when interest in preventive and personalized healthcare continues to grow.

According to data cited by the company, people in the UK spend approximately 25% of their lives living in poor health despite increasing life expectancy. While nearly three-quarters of adults believe healthy habits are essential for preventing future illness, many still struggle to determine what their bodies actually need.

As a result, millions are turning to digital tools and AI-powered assistants for guidance. The rapid rise of health-related searches and conversations with AI systems highlights growing demand for accessible health insights, but Calibre believes general-purpose AI alone is not sufficient for delivering meaningful health outcomes.

The company argues that healthcare requires a more comprehensive approach that combines clinical expertise, validated diagnostic information, and contextual understanding rather than relying solely on conversational AI.

Bringing Elite-Level Health Insights to More People

Calibre’s subscription-based membership is designed to provide a level of health intelligence traditionally available only to elite athletes, executives, and high-net-worth individuals.

The service integrates diagnostic testing, clinical consultations, and AI-powered analysis into a personalized health plan that evolves alongside the user. Members receive ongoing guidance intended to improve energy levels, support long-term health, and help prevent future disease.

The platform is currently available in the UK starting at £69 per month.

Regulatory Ambitions and International Expansion

As part of its long-term strategy, Calibre has applied to become a Care Quality Commission (CQC)-regulated healthcare provider in the UK. Until that process is completed, clinical services are delivered through its healthcare partner, DocTap, an existing CQC-registered provider.

The company plans to use the new funding to further develop its technology platform, expand its healthcare capabilities, and support future international growth.

While the UK serves as Calibre’s initial launch market, the startup sees significant global demand for proactive, personalized healthcare solutions that combine artificial intelligence with clinical expertise.

As healthcare systems increasingly shift toward prevention and personalized care, Calibre is positioning itself at the intersection of HealthTech, AI, diagnostics, and longevity-focused healthcare. Its founders believe that understanding the causes behind health outcomes—not just the symptoms—will define the next generation of digital health services.

With fresh funding, experienced operators, and growing consumer interest in proactive health management, Calibre is betting that the future of healthcare begins long before illness appears.
