London, UK – April 8, 2025 — NexGen Cloud, a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup, has secured €41 million in Series A funding to accelerate the rollout of sovereign, enterprise-grade AI cloud platforms across Europe.
Backed by high-net-worth individuals and family offices, the investment pushes the company’s post-money valuation to €323 million. It marks a pivotal milestone for the London-based firm as it aims to meet Europe’s increasing demand for sovereign AI compute solutions.
Founded in 2020, NexGen Cloud develops scalable AI infrastructure designed to support the next generation of AI applications. Its core offering, Hyperstack, provides on-demand enterprise GPU access—an AI-as-a-Service model tailored to startups, developers, and large enterprises alike.
“We’re building the backbone of Europe’s AI future,” said Chris Starkey, CEO and Co-founder. “This funding allows us to expand capacity and deliver full-stack, production-ready AI infrastructure with a focus on sovereignty and security.”
A Surge in Demand and Revenue
Since the launch of Hyperstack in 2023, NexGen Cloud has seen a dramatic 380% increase in AI cloud revenue, generating €83.9 million over the past two years. Transactions on the platform jumped 2272% year-over-year, with a current GPU utilisation rate of 90% across thousands of units.
Today, the platform serves more than 10,000 users—including Red Hat, Ingenix.AI, Tyne, and ArchiLabs. Customers praise the platform for its high performance, reliability, and competitive pricing.
“NexGen has been a rock-solid partner as we’ve scaled our cloud marketplace,” said Ed Goode, CEO of Shadeform. “Their infrastructure delivers consistent GPU power across all workload categories.”
Driving AI Sovereignty in Europe
With geopolitical pressures mounting and enterprises seeking secure, local alternatives to hyperscalers, NexGen Cloud is positioning itself as a champion of European AI sovereignty. The company’s Private Cloud offerings are designed to give governments and enterprises complete control over their data and infrastructure—while maintaining the agility needed for advanced AI workloads.
Looking ahead, the Series A funding will fuel expansion across Europe, build out new data centre capacity, and deepen NexGen Cloud’s Full Stack Cloud services. This includes innovations like Fine-Tuning-as-a-Service and serverless inference on dedicated virtual machines, enabling greater data privacy and tailored AI deployment at scale.
“We’re not just providing compute power,” added Starkey. “We’re enabling Europe’s AI ecosystem to grow independently, securely, and at scale.”
As demand for high-performance compute continues to soar, NexGen Cloud is betting big on a future where AI is sovereign, scalable, and enterprise-ready.
