Munich’s Furo Raises $4M to Expand AI Tools for Commercial and Industrial Energy Storage

Munich battery software startup Furo raises $4 million to expand AI tools for commercial and industrial energy storage

Munich-based Furo has raised $4 million (€3.4 million) in new funding in a round led by TQ Ventures, with participation from NeoSandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, and CDTM Venture Capital.

The Product

Furo develops AI-powered software for commercial and industrial battery storage systems, helping customers decide when to charge, discharge, and trade energy. Its platform forecasts electricity prices and weather up to 48 hours ahead, then adjusts battery operations in real time to improve performance and capture revenue from unused capacity.

The platform also markets that unused storage capacity into energy trading, giving operators an additional revenue stream beyond simply managing charge and discharge cycles for their own operations.

Market Context

The funding comes as rising power demand, grid volatility, and growing battery deployments push energy software further into focus. Furo says its platform is already in use across thousands of industrial sites in Europe, a scale of deployment that underscores investor interest in software aimed at making battery storage more economically viable for businesses.
