From Garage to Global: Lithuanian AI Startup Sintra Raises €14.9M to Revolutionize Small Business Operations

How Lithuanian AI startup raised €14.9 million to help SMEs with AI teammates

What started in a Vilnius garage has turned into one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI startups. Sintra, a Lithuanian company building AI-powered “teammates” for small businesses, has raised €14.9 million in seed funding to accelerate its global expansion and scale its product and engineering teams.

The round was led by Earlybird VC, with backing from Inovo, Practica Capital, and several high-profile angel investors.

Sintra’s mission is simple: bring AI to the heart of small business operations. Founded in 2023 by Chris Sidlauskas, Rokas Judickas, and Vasaris Kaveckas, the startup builds digital coworkers—AI helpers that handle marketing, sales, recruiting, customer service, and more. Unlike traditional SaaS tools, Sintra’s platform embeds AI teammates directly into the tools small businesses already use, like Facebook, Gmail, and Google Calendar.

“These aren’t just bots—they’re real assistants that help small business owners feel less overwhelmed and more in control,” said Sidlauskas, Sintra’s CEO. “We’re building tech that turns work into play.”

In just over a year, Sintra has gone from an experimental side project to a powerhouse with over 40,000 paying customers in 100+ countries and a €10.5 million ARR. Their revamped platform, Sintra 2.0, launched in May 2024 and reached €877,000 ARR in just 57 days.

The company’s roots trace back to 2018, when teenage friends Sidlauskas and Judickas ran a marketing agency from a garage, helping local Lithuanian businesses. Years later, inspired by ChatGPT, Sidlauskas began building AI-powered tools on Notion. That spark evolved into Sintra, now built around 12 AI teammates customized for small businesses.

Earlybird’s General Partner Andre Retterath sees huge potential: “Sintra is building the most intense AI product team out of Lithuania. They’re delivering for a massive, underserved market.”

The market need is clear. Small businesses account for 44% of global GDP, yet tens of millions still run on outdated tools. Sintra aims to change that with its “AI business in a box”—a platform where business owners can deploy a team of AI coworkers in minutes.

The system is powered by Sintra’s proprietary Brain AI, which learns the unique needs and workflows of each business over time, making the AI helpers smarter and more autonomous with use.

Available via iOS and web, Sintra’s subscription starts at $39/month, offering startups and solo founders an accessible on-ramp to smart automation.

For investors like Inovo’s Michal Rokosz, the team’s grit and ambition were just as impressive as the metrics. “When we visited Sintra’s tiny Vilnius apartment, it felt like Silicon Valley energy transported to the Baltics,” he said. “If you’re a young builder in the region, this is the place to be.”

Sintra’s story is a reminder that global innovation doesn’t need a Silicon Valley zip code—it just needs vision, persistence, and a garage.
